Fontys for Society

Fontys is a knowledge institution for higher education and practice-oriented research that is characterized by its size and broad expertise, its personal approach, and the warm community that all those thousands of students and employees form with each other.

Almost 46,000 students, almost 5,000 employees. Locations in ten cities in Brabant and Limburg, with the largest number of students in Eindhoven around 22,000. The Executive Board and staff services are located in Eindhoven at the Rachelsmolen campus.
75 bachelor programs, full- and part-time and dual, in almost every conceivable “field” of the labor market. In addition: 28 master’s degree programs, 15 associate degrees, and a varied range of courses and trainings for the business market. And: 44 professorships engaged in research and knowledge innovation.

This makes Fontys a large, substantively broad and geographically dispersed university of applied sciences. Our identity is formed by three pillars:

1. Our size and broad expertise offer opportunities for flexible provision for individual students and opportunities for multidisciplinary research.
2. Fontys is also characterized by an informal culture and a personal approach in which people are central.
3. The cooperation within our active network community of highly educated professionals, students and work field partners. Together we form a knowledge community.

Development’ is an absolute core concept within Fontys. Young people develop their talents as students with us, we develop relevant practical knowledge, working professionals can develop for a (working) lifetime with Fontys, we respond flexibly to far-reaching social developments, and – last but not least – within our community we develop ourselves by sharing knowledge and skills.
