Rabobank commits to the Dutch Brainport region like never before

The Rabobank is serious about Brainport. This area in the southeast province of Brabant in The Netherlands  is perhaps the most important region in Europe when it comes to innovative high-tech.
Brainport, the hub of the high-tech manufacturing industry in south east Brabant in The Netherlands, is growing as never before. One of the parties facilitating this growth is the Rabobank. This cooperative bank is pumping some 700 million euros into the further development of the Brainport region over the next two years. Last year, Rabobank already spent 300 million to support start-ups, scale-ups and other innovative projects. This money is in addition to the regular forms of funding.

National FameLab Final comes to TU/e!

The national final of FameLab – the annual science communication competition – is coming to Eindhoven! Ten contestants from four Dutch universities – including three contestants from TU/e – will battle it out to be the jury’s overall winner of the Dutch FameLab competition 2021.

Science + Tech Online Quiz during Dutch Technology Week more international than ever

It all started with the very first edition of the Dutch Technology Week (DTW) in 2012. Since then, Quiz Night NL has grown into an immensely popular event in which many people participate every year. In ‘normal times’ the event was held in the Klokgebouw in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Last year, however, due to the coronavirus, no physical DTW could take place. Therefore, the organizer of the quiz, event agency Number 42, had to quickly switch gears.

Artificial intimacy raises many questions

Will sex with robots indeed be quite normal in a few years, as artificial intelligence expert David Levy claims? He believes that in about 30 years, robots will have developed to the point where humans will be able to have intimate relationships with them and even believes that human-robot marriage will be legalized. A mix of in-person and online activities at Dutch Technology Week 2021

In a couple of weeks, we can again enjoy the dozens of events of the Dutch Technology Week. The tenth edition of this annual spectacle will take place from May 31 to June 5. Last year, the program had to be hastily adjusted due to the corona crisis, so a couple of online events could still take place. Fortunately, this year there was more time to arrange everything.

DTW goes digital: “in this special period of time, there is every reason for a special DTW”

It was already clear that there would be no physical Dutch Technology Week this year. But to emphasize the DTW mission – and not to lose any opportunity to emphasize the importance of technology for our society – there still is an online edition this year. From 8 to 13 June, Dutch Technology Week will take place through digital channels: DTW2020 Online. “In this special period of time, there is every reason for a special Dutch Technology Week,” says project manager Monique de Wit. “Online, we’ll put technology in the spotlight for one week.”
